Getting Started

Unwritten Legends is currently in the final stage of gamma testing and is accepting applications for Testers. If you would like to apply to become one of UL's player/gamma testers, please fill out the online application. (Note: Due to server constraints, the application may take a minute to load.)

Once the account has been approved, players will be able to generate their characters after they first log into the game. You can use a front end of your choice, several of which are available here. (Most of our current testers use GMud or ZMud.) After you have downloaded and installed the front end, follow the instructions that you recieve by email with your acceptance as a new UL Tester.

Third, read our UL Player Guide, UL Magic Guide, and UL Guide to Role Play, available in the "Player Guides" section. These player-written documents will provide invaluable assistance when learning to play Unwritten Legends, and will be revised and added to as we implement more and more features into the game! You may also wish to download maps, also available in "Player Guides."

Finally, the UL Player Help System is in place in-game and can be accessed by typing "help" in-game. You can use the Player Help System to get general information as well as information on roleplaying, combat, and other aspects of basic gameplay. You can also learn how to rent a room at an inn where you may store your character's gear, as well as about what to do if your character should experience an inconvenient death!
